Pierres naturelles : les bons mots pour choisir votre Sautoir

Amethyst, rose quartz, agate… Behind each name lies a world of colors, shades, and patterns. When choosing jewelry online, these words matter: they help you better understand what attracts you and discover the composition of a piece beyond its appearance.

At Christine de Suède, I love creating a dialogue between materials and colors. My Sautoirs are designed and handcrafted in my workshop in Lyon. Here are a few guidelines to help you explore the stones and find the piece that reflects you.

Why prioritize the exact name of the stone?

You may have come across the terms “semi-precious stones” or “semi-fine stones.” To discover the composition of a piece of jewelry, a precise indication such as “amethyst,” “rose quartz,” or “agate” is more informative than a general category.

The name of a stone provides an initial reference point. However, it does not, on its own, indicate its geographical origin, any treatments it may have undergone, or the other materials that make up the piece of jewelry. When choosing, also take the time to read the details on the product page.

Natural stones, fine stones: understand without confusing

The term “natural stones” indicates the nature of the material; it does not automatically mean that it has not undergone any treatment. The term “fine stones,” when appropriate, remains a general designation. The exact name of each stone and the composition details therefore remain your best starting points.

A Sautoir can also combine several materials: stones, glass beads, metal elements, or other components. Their dialogue contributes to its aesthetic, but these materials are not interchangeable. Look at the composition of the piece that appeals to you rather than relying solely on its color.

Choose with your eyes, then look at the details

Does a particular shade attract you? That is often the beginning of a love at first sight. Then, look at the photos, dimensions, and composition details. Imagine the piece of jewelry with an outfit you already love to wear: a white shirt, a simple knit, or a dress with clean lines.

Natural stones may show variations in color or pattern. These characteristics contribute to the piece’s unique character. They invite you to choose an overall harmony rather than seeking perfect uniformity.

The craftsmanship behind your Sautoir

In my workshop, each creation is the result of my imagination and meticulous attention to detail. I combine colors, shapes, and finishes to create a piece of jewelry that finds its balance and personality.

The beauty of a Sautoir does not depend on a label: it is revealed in its composition, the handcrafted work, and the pleasure of wearing it. It is this meeting between material and creation that I invite you to discover.

Three guidelines for your next love at first sight

Color: choose a palette that complements your wardrobe or provides the contrast you desire.

Composition: check the listed materials to understand the different elements of the piece of jewelry.

Style: look at the dimensions and photos to imagine how the Sautoir will complement your silhouette.
