Two stones, two ways to wear blue. Lapis lazuli and sodalite captivate with their deep hues, yet offer different visual characters. To choose your long necklace, let yourself be guided by the colors, patterns, and combinations that reflect you.

Lapis lazuli.

Blue sodalite.
Lapis lazuli: an intense blue with golden flecks
Lapis lazuli is a rock whose blue is mainly due to lazurite. It can feature pyrite inclusions with golden reflections and white areas of calcite. Each stone has its own distribution of colors: therefore, not all display the same flecks or intensity.
Choose it if you like jewelry with a bold character. Its deep blue pairs particularly well with golden elements, a white shirt, or an outfit in cream tones. On a long necklace, it can become the bright focal point that catches the eye.
Blue sodalite: unique shades and patterns
Sodalite is a mineral that is often blue, which can be accompanied by white veins or patches. Its appearance can range from a fairly uniform blue to a highly contrasted composition. These natural patterns give each bead a unique personality.
Prefer it if you like stones with expressive patterns and combinations of blue, white, and gray. It complements both denim and a simple outfit and lends itself to compositions with gold or silver finishes.
Which gemstone to choose for your long necklace?
For an intense blue punctuated, depending on the stone, by golden reflections, opt for lapis lazuli. For a play of blues and white veins, let yourself be captivated by sodalite. The most important thing remains the appearance of the chosen specimen: two stones bearing the same name can be very different.
Color alone is not enough to identify a gemstone. To learn about its nature and any treatments, prioritize the information about its origin and composition provided by the seller.
Preserving the beauty of your stones
Avoid shocks, household products, and direct contact with perfume or cosmetics. For regular maintenance, use a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry gently. Avoid soaking and steam or ultrasonic cleaning. Store your long necklace separately to limit friction.
A creation that reflects you
In my workshop in Lyon, I design long necklaces where colors and materials come together in dialogue. Whether your preference lies with lapis lazuli or sodalite, your choice can start with a shade, a pattern, or simply an emotion.
